Several policy changes were approved at the February 14 board meeting. Here is what you need to know:
Unused Sustainable Yield is carried over into the next year at full value with no leave behind.
Unused Tier 1 & 2 may also be carried over into the next year at full value and there is no annual leave behind. Growers will have to pay upfront to carry over their Tiered Water or lose it.
As for priority of use, the Water Dashboard Credit Manager will allow growers to select the priority of use of water credits (Sustainable Yield, Tiered Water, Surface Water). By default, precipitation is used first.
Beginning WY 2024, precipitation will be calculated and allocated for the year based on a 25 year rolling average.
